For the second year on the bounce The Magic Wingdom on Dormer Place in Leamington Spa has won big at Wing Fest, the largest chicken wing showdown in the UK. The Birmingham event took place over the bank holiday weekend and was judged by Michelin Star chef, Paul Foster & Wingmans founder, Ben Ford. Leamington’s Magic Wingdom was voted 1st place by the Judges for its Wild Wing, The Wingdominono, an homage to pizza, complete with Garlic & Herb Dip. It’s Kimchi Buffalo sauce scored 2nd this time in the Best Buffalo category. The People’s Choice Awards scored The Wingdominono a 1st place & The Buffalo a 3rd.
Owners Sam Cornwall-Jones & Frankie Griffiths were elated to come home with the awards for a second time. You can taste these sauces at The Leamington Food & Drink Festival on 9th, 10th September and visit the restaurant Tuesday- Saturday.

The Small Print
Bottomless Wings or Vings are eat in only, per person, not per table but the whole table must participate. The First portion will be 3 wings plus a side of fries and then 3 wings thereafter, following orders will be placed once once you’ve finished your first round completely. No other promotions are available in conjunction with this offer. Your hour begins when you place your first order (it’s on your receipt and our word is final!) We reserve the right to tweak these rules if people are being silly. There’ll be no silliness here!

As you may have seen on our socials it’s been a busy few months here with some eggs’ellent mid week feeding deals. In case you’ve missed what’s going on here’s a recap…

The Magic Wingdom team will be leaving the coop over the next few months to show our faces at some outdoor events, INCLUDING defending last years’s wins at Birmingham Wingfest.

Leamington Food Festival – 9th-10th September

We went to Birmingham’s first Wingfest in Digbeth last weekend. The World’s Largest Chicken Wing Festival. The competition brief was to serve 2 types of wing: A Buffalo & a Wild Wing. We took our ‘Classic Buffalo’ with Blue Cheese Sauce, Celery & Chives & ‘Wingdom Come’, Our Signature Gochujang House Sauce with Chive Ranch & Pecorino Cheese.
It was an exceptionally hot weekend and the festival was well attended. I think they said there were 3000 people there on the Saturday alone. We had some lovely compliments from some of the greatest wing slingers & food bloggers in the country and The official judges came round mid afternoon- winners were to be announced at 8.30 on the main stage.
8.30 came and we cleaned up, 1st place for both categories. We were gobsmacked, twice. Then on Sunday we came 2nd in The Peoples Choice Awards for each category – more shock!
We owe a huge thanks to all the staff that worked their little asses off both at home and at the competition. Thanks to all who have supported us over our first wing competition… WE”LL BE BACK!

THIS YEAR THE LEAMINGTON FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL WILL BE HELD SATURDAY 10TH AND SUNDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER, IN THE HEART OF THE TOWN, CELEBRATING THE BEST IN LOCAL AND REGIONAL FOOD AND DRINK. THATS AN UNDERSTATEMENT – IT’S THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE TOWN’S CALENDAR & IT TAKES PLACE RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE WINGDOM. WE’LL BE THERE IN FULL FORCE WITH THE DRAWING BOARD BAR, CLAW & ORDER LOBSTER ROLLS AND MORE WINGS THAN YOU CAN SHAKE A STICK AT!

ON SATURDAY 13TH & SUNDAY 14TH AUGUST 2022 WE HAVE BEEN INVITED TO TAKE PART IN WINGFEST WHICH IS PRETTY BIG HONOUR! WE’RE OBVIOUSLY GOING TO BRING OUR ‘A’ GAME AND WILL BE SHOWING OFF OUR WARES TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITIES AWAY FROM THE COOP!
